Itinerary: MADRID – HARO – LOGROÑO – MADRID
Arrival to Madrid.
Transfer from the airport to the Abba Atocha Hotel 3***, in Pº Santa María de la Cabeza, 73. 28045 Madrid. A hotel with modern facilities situated in the centre of Madrid, near the city’s artistic and cultural heart (Museo del Prado, Reina Sofía, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza collection). Restaurant specialised in Castilian cuisine.

Royal Palace and Madrid Sightseeing Tour. Meeting point: Depending on the hotel you are staying, a bus will pick up you between 07:30 and 08:15 a.m.

You’ll visit: Principal staircase, rooms of Alabarderos, Columns, Throne, Gasparini, Carlos III, Porcelains, Gala dining room, Museum of Silver, Musical Instruments, Principal Courtyard, Real Chapel and the new Four Rooms.
We start the SIGHTSEEING TOUR OF MADRID to show you all different and interesting views of Madrid from Austrias, Borbones, Isabelino and Contemporary quarters until the Barrio de la Morería (Moorish Quarter; the elegant squares, streets, and large avenues reaching Colon square, where we’ll stop (A Softdrink will be served complimentary by Hard Rock Café Madrid) following reaching the Santiago Bernabéu Football Stadium and Castilla Square (Europe Gate).
In the afternoon you will receive your rental car (GPS, automatic, category K) at the hotel to begin your route through the cellars of La Rioja: Madrid – Haro (3 hours 40 minutes).
We recommended to stop at Lerma (2 hours 20 minutes); Lerma is a pre-Roman villa foundation of Celtic tribes. Place of passage, situated in strategic location overlooking the river Arlanza, lived different cultures: Romans, Swabians, Visigoths, Arabs … Since 900, the Christian advance its border lies on the river Arlanza, starting restocking, and installing along the river a series of strong positions and castles, among which was the de Lerma.
Arrival to Haro and checking at ETH Hotel ***, in C/ Los Nogales, 1, Haro. The three-star ETH Rioja is a fashionable and contemporary hotel, conveniently positioned in Haro – the beautiful capital of Spain’s famous wine growing region. Beautiful grapes and a variety of scenic wineries circle the elegant hotel, which is ideally located for exploring the neighboring areas.

Visit to the wineries “Heredad Baños Bezares” with tasting (8 minutes from Haro), in C/ Solana, S/N. 26290 Briñas (La Rioja). Visiting these wineries is certainly a unique way to come into contact with the wine of Rioja. An experience that will bring us closer to the mysteries of wine and its production, allowing us to learn new things about the traditional processes, but also on new techniques, but, above all, we will contact teachers vintners, with knowledge and with their humanity.
In the afternoon Visit to the wineries “Bilbainas” with tasting, in Haro, C/ Estación, 3 (CP. 26200). Founded in 1901, Bilbainas is one of the most historic wineries, best of Rioja fame. In 1997, the Group acquired Bodegas Codorniu Bilbaínas and revolutionized the wine cellar. The renewal of the compound housing Bilbaínas Bodegas began with the construction of a pavilion for the reception of harvest, the pressing and fermentation. Months later he built a cellar for aging in casks. Spare time to enjoy the city.

DAY 4: HARO – LOGROÑO – MADRID

Visit to the wineries “Olarra” with tasting (40 minutes from Haro), in Avenida Mendavia (Pol. Cantabria I), 30, 26009 Logroño. Bodegas Olarra is located on the outskirts of Logroño, right in the heart of the Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja and within the prestigious Rioja Alta sub-district. Since it was founded in 1973, Olarra has been characterised by the beauty and complexity of its facilities, known as the Cathedral of Rioja, with its unique ‘Y’ shaped ground plan, as well as its 111 hexagonal “egg box” domes. This bodega has been able to combine the most modern winemaking techniques with the traditional vinification and ageing processes of Rioja, creating wines which have been conceived according to strict quality standards.
After the visit you have to drive to Madrid (4 hours 5 minutes).
Arrival to Madrid and checking at Abba Atocha Hotel 3***. You have to return the car at the hotel.
